Used commercial dishwasher value guide

Undercounter, door-type, conveyor, and glass washers valued by pump condition, booster heat, chemical system, racks, voltage, and code-ready installation parts.

How to price commercial dishwashers

Commercial dishwasher value depends on machine type, sanitation method, voltage, booster requirements, pump operation, and whether installation parts are included. Undercounter, door-type, conveyor, and glass washers serve different buyers, so a useful comp set starts with configuration. Racks, tables, scrap traps, curtains, chemical pumps, and boosters can move the value range significantly.

Dishwashers depreciate around service complexity. A working high-temp door machine with a booster and clean gauges is easier to sell than a unit with unknown voltage, missing tables, or chemical feed issues. Low-temp machines can still be valuable, but buyers need to know chemical requirements and whether local code allows the setup.

Private-sale buyers pay more when they can see the machine fill, wash, drain, and reach required temperatures. Dealers and auction buyers discount dish machines for deliming, pump seals, booster elements, installation mismatch, freight, and plumbing uncertainty. Conveyor units can have strong replacement cost, but removal and buyer fit often create steep liquidation discounts.

Condition modifiers

Excellent condition means working wash and drain cycles, clean gauges, complete racks, and correct sanitation temperatures. Fair condition should reflect voltage uncertainty, missing tables, pump leaks, or booster problems.

Excellent

Ready to demonstrate, clean, complete, and buyer-ready.

Good

Normal wear with core functions testable and standard parts included.

Fair

Usable or repairable, but missing pieces or service needs reduce offers.

Poor

Untested, incomplete, non-working, or likely to sell as a repair project.

Brand and buyer notes

Hobart, Jackson, CMA, Champion, Moyer Diebel, and Meiko provide useful resale anchors. Brand recognition helps most when model, voltage, phase, and booster setup are clear.

Caution notes

Voltage, phase, plumbing, booster, and chemical-code mismatches can make an otherwise working dishwasher hard for a buyer to install.

  • Voltage, phase, booster requirements, and plumbing code mismatches can limit the buyer pool.
  • Conveyor units may receive steep liquidation discounts due to removal and install costs.

Inspection checklist

  • Photograph data plate, controls, wash chamber, racks, tables, gauges, pump area, and chemical lines.
  • Document fill, wash, drain, and heat behavior if utilities are still connected.
  • List voltage, phase, high-temp or low-temp sanitation, and included tables or racks.

Listing and offer tips

  • Use machine type and voltage in the listing title to filter incompatible buyers.
  • Bundle racks, tables, and scrap traps in the price when they fit the machine.
